Project background:

Picture this: You found a calm, cute puppy (Fido) with whom you get along with well. Fido is a bit shy but will come to you and interact with you. After spending some time together, you believe he's a great match and you adopt him, taking him home. A few weeks later, however, he is suddenly more energic and rambunctious and a bit too much for you to handle. He requires more walks and exercise to release his energy and you simply don't have enough time for him. You decide that ultimately, it's in his and your best interest to return him to the shelter...

These things happen, not every match made in shelters work out. To reduce the likelihood of these events, I wanted to create a platform that combines information typically provided from shelters with visuals and comments from fosters and visitors as the animals interact with different people in different situations. Having access to these visuals will allow users to obtain a better understanding of the animal's personality and gauge whether or not they're a good match. Additionally, seeing cute videos will add to the animal's charm, hopefully increasing their adoption rates.

Animals in this website are all samples populated as placeholders that can be easily replaced with data from shelters and other animal adoption organizations.
